This stoneware mug was thrown on the wheel and fired in a wood/soda kiln to about cone 12, or ~2400°F.
It’s decorated with a satin white glaze on the inside, and was left unglazed on the outside, leading to a toasty dark surface which is highlight by a delicate sheen where traces of soda ash made their mark.
